Navios Maritime (NYSE: NM) will purchase four new Capesize vessels and amended agreements to build three Capesize vessels.

The waiting period for the proposed merger between Alpha Natural Resources (NYSE: ANR) and Foundation Coal Holdings (NYSE: FCL) expired. Shareholders of record June 25, 2009 will vote on the proposed merger on July 31, 2009.

Republic Airways Holdings (Nasdaq: RJET) will acquire Midwest Airlines.

On the downside

Halozyme Therapeutics (Nasdaq: HALO) raised approximately $40 million through the sale of 6.15 million shares of common stock.

UBS Investment Research analyst Kevin Crissey cited continued weakness in air travel for lowering his estimate for US Airways (NYSE: LCC).

Actuant (NYSE: ATU) will raise capital to pay down debt through a public offering of 9 million common shares.
