Two Senior Financial Sector Analysts Join Pali Capital

Pali Capital Inc, an independent, global financial services firm announced that it is launching research coverage of the financial services industry and that Chris Allen and Doug Sipkin have joined the firm as senior equity research analysts. Mr. Allen, who joins from Bank of America, covers the Exchange and Market Structure industry. Mr. Sipkin joins from Wachovia and covers the Broker and Asset Management space. The addition of Messrs. Allen and Sipkin bolster Pali’s diverse and robust research offering which now consists of 16 analysts covering close to 40 sectors in the US, Europe and Asia.

Mr. Allen covered the Exchange and Market Structure sector at Bank of America for the past three years. Previously he was at UBS where he covered the banking sector and prior to that he covered the brokerage and banking sectors at Putnam Lovell.

While at Bank of America, Mr. Allen’s coverage included the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (Nasdaq: CME), Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), NYSE Euronext (NYSE: NYX), Nasdaq OMX Group (Nasdaq: NDAQ), Investment Technology Group (NYSE:ITG), GFI Group (Nasdaq:GFIG) MF Global (NYSE: MF), and Knight Capital (Nasdaq: NITE).

Mr. Allen received his BS from Boston College and his MBA from New York University. He is joined at Pali by his associate, Avi Ghosh, who also comes from Bank of America where he covered the Specialty Finance and Brokerage space for five years.

Mr. Sipkin was at Wachovia for nine years where he established the Broker and Asset Management research practice. While at Wachovia his coverage included Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), Lazard (NYSE:LAZ), Greenhill (NYYSE: GHL), Blackrock (NYSE: BLK), Legg Mason (NYSE: LM) and T. Rowe Price (Nasdaq: TROW). In July, 2008 Bloomberg Magazine recognized him for being one of the first analysts to identify emerging problems in the brokerage industry. In 2006, he was named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the Best on the Street and in 2005 Forbes Magazine named him the #1 analyst based on stock recommendations.

Mr. Sipkin received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He will be joined at Pali by his associate, Warren Gardiner, who worked with him for the past two years at Wachovia.
