Clear Channel Radio Names John Kaufman as SVP Revenue Management

Clear Channel Radio today announced the appointment of John Kaufman to SVP Revenue Management, effective immediately. In this newly-created position, Kaufman will be responsible for increasing the company’s key capability for revenue management.

“John understands the importance of intelligent optimization of inventory, and the need to offer attractive pricing to current and future customers, making him the ideal candidate for this position. He brings a vast knowledge base, critical skill set and unique approach that is suited for maximizing revenue from the radio industry’s advertising inventory, and we’re certain that he will effectively elevate the company’s revenue management capabilities,” said John Hogan, President and CEO of Clear Channel Radio. “Clear Channel Radio is stepping up, again, to improve our ability to support our sellers and advertisers. John will be hiring a new team of up to 40 revenue managers deployed across our 150 markets to back this effort and we’re proud to have him in this significant leadership role.”

Most recently, Kaufman was Executive Vice President of Revenue Management and Electronic Marketing at Extended Stay Hotels, where he was responsible for the company’s revenue management strategy and managing all reservation distribution channels and relationships. Prior to Extended Stay Hotels, he was Vice President of Global Revenue Management at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, leading an organization responsible for maximizing revenue at Starwood’s 900 hotels around the world. In his successful career history, he has also held key positions at Priceline.com and American Airlines.

Kaufman has an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and a BA from Cornell University. He is frequently a guest lecturer on Revenue Management in the Travel Industry at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business, and he is currently involved with the Glass Leadership Institute of the Anti-Defamation League. He has also served on the general board and the executive board of the Jewish Federation of Westport, Weston, Wilton and Norwalk (Connecticut), committees at Temple Israel of Westport, and been involved in various Cornell University alumni organizations.
