Mia Martin Palm Beach
Mia Martin, a distinguished author and revered Palm Beach resident, is proud to announce the successful sale of her 1905 neo-classical Edwardian mansion on Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., to the Embassy of Estonia. Martin, known for her literary contributions and unwavering commitment to historic preservation, continues to make her mark on the architectural landscape with this impressive transaction.

Palm Beach, FL - A passionate advocate for European architecture and decorative arts, Mia Martin has restored and owned numerous period homes, particularly those reflecting Regency architecture. This recent sale joins her portfolio of significant transactions, including a historic Virginia farmhouse and a Regency-style residence in Palm Beach.

Martin's deep-seated love for art and historic preservation was nurtured during her upbringing in Virginia’s hunt country, where she resided on a historic estate. An alumna of Foxcroft School and the Corcoran School of Art, she pursued further studies in Europe at institutions such as Franklin College in Lugano, John Cabot University in Rome, and Sotheby’s in London, ultimately earning a fine arts degree from American University in Washington, D.C. Her dedication to architectural and cultural heritage is reflected in her involvement with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and her trusteeship at Oatlands Plantation.

Her commitment to preserving America's architectural legacy has led to active roles within several prestigious organizations. Martin has served on the Council of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, co-chaired the "Restore America Gala" at the Library of Congress, and held a trusteeship at Oatlands Plantation. She has also contributed her expertise to the United States Commission for America’s Heritage Abroad.

Martin's passion for genealogy and historical preservation has furthered her involvement in various genealogical societies. She has served as Recording Secretary for the Colonial Dames XVI Century and chaired its heraldry committee. She is also a DAR and a member of the Pilgrim Society, and she was recently elected to The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Additionally, Martin is the author of "Dog Heraldry: The Official Collection of Canine Coat of Arms," published by Simon & Schuster and launched at the Westminster Kennel Club.

Looking ahead, Mia Martin remains dedicated to her preservation and restoration efforts. She aims to secure the future of historic estates by matching them with new benefactors and owners.
