Despite what some politicians may believe, there are safe and effective contraceptive methods for a woman beyond keeping her legs closed, says NY OBGYN.
NEW YORK - Oct. 17, 2023 - PRLog -- There's a saying that you don't mix business with pleasure. Author Dr. Gale Blakley says you shouldn't mix politics with a woman's sexual health and welfare.
Blakley is the author of the book, Dr. Gale's Page: Facts and Fiction on Girls' Sexual Health. The purpose of the book, she says, is to "help young girls transition smoothly from adolescence into womanhood without fear of retribution for their choices." The New York board-certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology believes the recent ruling by the Supreme Court to ban abortion sends a terrible message to females. Dr. Blakley says, "With all due respect, I believe the Supreme Court decision was politically motivated because they didn't fully take into account the full scope of how their decision can hurt, if not kill, some young girls and women."
Dr. Blakley believes her book is extremely important and necessary at this time because it arms young girls with important answers to their questions---questions they may feel uncomfortable talking about with their mothers or other people. The book covers topics including the menstrual cycle, teen pregnancy, choosing contraception, STD's, dating violence and more. She wants young girls to know there are safe and effective contraceptive methods beyond keeping your legs closed.
Transitioning from puberty into womanhood can be a scary time and confusing but it doesn't have to be, according to the OBGYN. "We're living in a time where we're trying to reduce maternal death and there shouldn't be anything political about that. Furthermore, I want young girls to know that vagina is not a bad word."
