Stan Starsky Discusses Staggering Unhealthy Eating Statistics and Offers Simple Mindful Eating Solutions

By: Get News
Most people in the U.S. consume high sodium, saturated fat, and sugar, which can lead to potentially life-threatening disease

Healthy lifestyle expert Stan Starsky has tirelessly researched diet and nutrition to find simple daily alternatives for healthy snacking. While many of the typical food items branded as “healthy” contain ingredients that are less-than-optimal, Starsky recently debuted a new cookbook that offers a whole-food perspective on snacking.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest found that unhealthy dieting in the United States contributes to at an average of 678,000 deaths per year. Diets that are high in sugar, sodium, and saturated fat, especially in combination with a lack of vital vitamins and minerals, can lead to chronic and potentially life-threatening health conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer.

Nearly half of adults and 56% of children have overall poor quality diets, according to a paper entitled “Strengthening national nutrition research: rationale and options for a new coordinated federal research effort and authority” published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

According to Starsky, the research suggested in the paper could take years to complete. “People don’t have to wait for the research to be conducted. A healthy diet can be established immediately by simply implementing whole foods, especially vegetables, fruits, and whole grains,” said Starsky.

In his new cookbook, ‘Stan Starsky Snacks: The Gluten Free, Dairy Free, No Processed Sugar Healthy Snacks Cookbook to Look and Feel Fantastic’, Starsky introduces people to healthy snacks packed with vitamins, nutrients, and fiber. Each recipe includes easily attainable ingredients such as fruits and vegetables that yield wholesome, nourishing snacks. After hundreds of hours of research, the cookbook’s recipes were compiled to deliver a simple and easy-to-follow guide for truly healthy snacking.

While further dietary and nutritional research is slated, people everywhere can get a jump start on a truly healthy diet now. More information can be found at
