This award-winning dance studio continues to combine world-class dance instruction with empowering principles to build every child’s dance skills and self-confidence. Building a children’s dance studio that’s not only empowering and fun, but also highly instructive is no easy feat, but one dreamer has done it! Hope MacDonald opened Bella Ballet in 2013 with a $5,000 loan and it has blossomed into an award-winning dance school that provides quality dance instruction, inspires confidence, sparks passion, and builds self-esteem, all while having tons and tons of fun.
Recently, this empowering dance studio opened its 10th season with exciting & fun-filled themed summer camps and summer dance classes. Bella Ballet accepts students as young as two years old up to 15 years old to join the dance class offerings at its studio in the Kentlands. Among the many classes it offers are ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, and contemporary dance.
Bella Ballet is also dedicated to giving back to its community. The dance school regularly works with local charities throughout the year through several campaigns such as One Warm Coat & Nourish Now. The company believes that doing so allows them to plant a philanthropic spirit in their students, aside from instilling kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and anti-bullying.
“We may have grown into much more than a children’s dance school,” says Hope MacDonald. “But we will always build confident ballerinas one twirl at a time.”
Bella Ballet started as a big dream for Hope Macdonald and has grown into a powerhouse dance school that teaches traditional dance repertoire while instilling positive values that last a lifetime. The dream became a reality in 2013, and today, Bella Ballet is a staple in the Kentlands community, with 15 instructors holding more than 50 classes a week, and teaching over 500 students.
