Boonesboro, MD – Apr 19, 2022 – Mark your calendars for April 30th, 7 – 10pm for an evening of fun!
On April 30, 2022, Get Kids Outside will hold a fun-filled evening with drinks, dinner, games and a silent auction, at the American Legion in Boonesboro, MD. The purpose will be to raise money for children to take a trip to the Dry Tortugas National Park, in Florida.
Get Kids Outside, is a local Frederick County, Maryland-based 501c3 Nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and educate children though experiences in the great outdoors. Underprivileged children, otherwise not able to access the great National Parks, will benefit by camping under the stars, snorkeling, exploring a civil war fort, and receiving education in marine life in Dry Tortugas in June 2022. Past trips include Yellowstone, Sequoia and Yosemite National Park, and Zion National Park.
David Smith, CEO of Get Kids Outside, says of this upcoming trip, “It’s always exciting to show our youth the beauty of nature and our national parks.” Children are indeed positively impacted by these experiential, yet educational excursions. One veteran child-traveler exclaims,”I learned so much – I want to look into becoming a park ranger!”
Tickets for the April 30th fundraiser are $25, which includes dinner and a drawing with a chance to win cash at the end of the evening (need not be present to win). The address for the the American Legion is: 710 N Main St, Boonesboro, MD. 21713.
