Soroka cited for exemplifying excellence in focusing on the Club's leadership responsibilities, accountability and the management of the board

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Feb. 23, 2022 - PRLog -- BoardRoom magazine has named member Michael Soroka at Hunters Run Country Club as one of the magazine's top 22 Private Club Presidents for 2021.  Soroka, who served as Hunters Run's Club President from 2020 through February 2022, was cited for exemplifying excellence in focusing on the Club's leadership responsibilities, accountability and the management of the board in providing healthy respect for the club's macromanagement.

The award, now in its 14th year, attracts board president nominations from clubs and other nominators from around the world.

Commenting on his award, Soroka said, "I am extremely honored and humbled to first have been nominated, and then to have been named as one of 22 private club presidents for 2021.  This distinction underscores the importance of working efficiently and effectively with fellow board colleagues for the betterment of the Club."

Soroka has been on the Board of Hunters Run for the last four years, two of which were as President. Part of his accomplishments includes working in concert with the Club's 23 residential associations within this mandatory membership community. Another key accomplishment under his administration was the modernization of governance at the Club. One of the most satisfying accomplishments for which he is particularly proud is strengthening teamwork between the board, management, employees and the membership in response to the covid pandemic for the health and safety of the members.

In a letter to Soroka informing him of his being named to BoardRoom magazine's top 22 list, the magazine notes, "We understand the importance of your role as president, working effectively and efficiently with your volunteer board and the dedication that's required from everyone with whom you work."

The letter also points to key elements in making their decision.  They include commitment, competence, diversity, collective decision-making, openness, transparency, and effective communication.

BoardRoom magazine is the official publication of the Association of Private Club Directors (APCD), Distinguished Clubs and Distinguished Golf Destinations. The magazine's mandate is to educate and inform with a focus on raising issues and solving problems, particularly for board members, COOs and general managers.
