Portland OR Blockchain/Cryptocurrency Charity For Home Renovation Report Launch

Smart Digital Payments, a company that helps small businesses to accept cryptocurrency as payments, has launched a new report into several ways blockchain technology is being used for charity around the world, and at home in Portland, Oregon.

Vancouver, United States - February 9, 2022 /PressCable/

When most people think of cryptocurrency, they think of investors, NFTs, and the financial industry, but blockchain technology is being used for more than just buying and selling tokens. This new report from Smart Digital Payments details several charitable organizations and the unique ways they are using blockchain technology to improve the lives of people in impoverished communities.

The new report explains that blockchain technology can fund initiatives that seek to improve the world, but can also be used as an incentive and tool for individuals on the receiving end of the charitable works. One example is a program called Firefly, which provides support for home-school families through curriculum guidance, life skills, and adventure education.

The Firefly program does not replace the home-school program but supplements it with additional resources. It also provides students with a chance to earn cryptocurrency tokens of their own in exchange for completing their school assignments, and those crypto tokens can be traded for other tokens or sold for USD.

Smart Digital Payments is involved in their own charitable works in Portland, Oregon, where they have partnered with Taking Ownership PDX, a charitable group that helps to renovate and revive homes in impoverished communities. The company helps businesses to save money on credit card processing by transferring the fees to customers and providing them with an incentive to make purchases with cash.

With their profits from helping small businesses, Smart Digital Payments can contribute to charitable projects like Taking Ownership PDX, and their own project, SDP Owls. The SDP Owls project sells collectible NFT owls that are based on a variety of philanthropic projects that the profits support.

SDP Owls has so far donated to projects for reforestation, solving gentrification issues, creating self-sustaining ecosystems for musicians, and education. They also support Black representation in cartoons, projects to feed the homeless, and carbon sequestration.

Smart Digital Payments is just one of many businesses and groups working to improve the world using blockchain technology. While cryptocurrency can revolutionize the way individuals transfer money and make purchases worldwide, it also has many other uses.
