Grand Junction, CO - August 27, 2021

IntelliTec College, a certificate and degree-granting institution with campus locations in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and Pueblo, Colorado, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been recognized by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce, for its outstanding leadership in preparing individuals for employment in the IT field.

IntelliTec College is one of five organizations to receive a CompTIA Transformation Award for demonstrating the ability to change, evolve, shift and transform its operations and practices to incorporate new ways of instruction, diversify and expand the audiences they serve and deliver other positive impacts.

“Partners such as IntelliTec Colleges remained resolute and strong through more than a year of unprecedented challenges and disruptions,” said John McGlinchey, CompTIA’s executive vice president for global certification. “Their creativity and adaptability allowed them to provide high-quality education and training to individuals pursuing opportunities to work in IT. CompTIA is grateful for their effort and proud to call them a partner.”

The CompTIA Transformation Award was presented recently at the CompTIA 2021 Partner Summit, a virtual gathering of educators, commercial trainers, government agencies, corporate learning and development leaders, instructors and others who work to enhance the skill set of the global IT workforce. CompTIA’s mission is to be the hub for advancing the tech industry and its workforce, through education, training, certifications, advocacy, philanthropy, and market research. IntelliTec is proud to have received this award from CompTIA. Rick Butler, MSM-IT/PM, CySA+, IntelliTec’s Corporate Director of Information Technology, said of the partnership, “IntelliTec has been increasing involvement with CompTIA in the last couple years, through the CompTIA Instructor’s Network and providing instruction through the CIN’s Train-the-Trainer series.  We believe the more involvement we can have with CompTIA, the more improvements we can make to our programs to help our students be successful when they go for certification.”

IntelliTec College is a CompTIA Authorized Academy and offers a Computer Network and Systems Technician (CNST) program at the Albuquerque and Colorado Springs campus locations. The CNST program is designed to prepare graduates to test for professional certifications including the CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+ Certified Technician (two exams: Hardware and Software), CompTIA Network+ Certified Professional, CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional, and the Microsoft Technology Associate — Server and Linux Essentials. These certifications are recognized throughout the industry and highly valued by employers, and graduates of IntelliTec’s CNST program will be prepared to enter the workforce as a computer systems administrator, network technician, end-user support specialist, computer systems support technician, information technology associate, mobile device specialist (A+), or information security/assurance analyst.

In the CNST program, students learn the essentials of computer and network repair skills, including how to build and repair computers; install, configure, and maintain a variety of Windows operating systems in a stand-alone, workgroup, and domain environment; set up internet connections and establish different types of networks like LAN (local area network) or WAN (wide area network); establish and maintain functioning routers and servers and prevent and repair malfunctions when they occur, and maintain network security fundamentals with Cloud technology. Additionally, students learn the important “soft skills” for providing help and support to people and organizations using computer software or equipment.

Students may enroll in either the 12-month CNST certificate program, available at both Albuquerque and Colorado Springs, or the 19-month CNST Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree program at the Albuquerque campus. An AOS degree program at the Colorado Springs campus is coming soon.
