With this announcement, Boomhi will help protect and rebuild wild orca populations through sustainability projects.

The southern resident orca is an endangered type of killer whale. Because of severe environmental degradation, including pollution and overfishing of the whale’s primary food source, the Chinook salmon, there are less than 80 wild southern resident orcas in the world.

The Orca Project has found that planting trees near water sources the southern resident orca rely on can help prevent pollution, erosion and provide essential nutrients to Chinook salmon.

Boomhi responds to these trends by partnering on The Orca Project with One Tree Planted to strategically plant trees to help the southern resident whale population. The company will plant one tree for every pair of socks purchased.

Boomhi socks are uniquely designed with wellness in mind. The brand uses Elevated Mind Technology—a tactile pattern that is woven in its socks that activate a neural response to naturally create feelings of joy and optimism in wearers.

The company’s classic crew design, calf-length socks provide targeted cushioning and arch support. The soft and breathable socks come in a variety of colours, including mineral, sky, moss and red earth.

Customers can also opt for the company’s quarter top socks, which provide the same benefits as the classic crew, but in a cropped, ankle-high design. All socks are sustainably made using reclaimed plastic.

The latest announcement is in line with Boomhi’s commitment to providing customers with high-quality, sustainable apparel. Moreover, the company has developed a strong reputation for well-designed products and customer service.

A spokesperson for the company said: “All of us at Boomhi are excited to announce that we are taking steps to protect wild orcas with our new partnership with The Orca Project and One Tree Planted. Together we can make a difference to our wildlife.”
