Dr. Huang's focus will be on meeting the demand for high quality implant supported dentures and standard dentures. Dr. Huang will be the 2nd board certified prosthodontist to work at PearlFection Dentistry.

FREDERICK, Md. - May 19, 2021 - PRLog -- PearlFection Dentistry of Frederick Maryland and Urbana, Maryland is proud to announce that Dual Board-Certified Prosthodontist Dr. Peterson Huang has joined our practice. Dr. Huang will immediately take on the most complicated prosthodontic cases, including but not limited to implant supported dentures, full mouth rehabilitation cases, and the most complicated implant supported bridge and denture work. Dr. Huang will join our existing Prosthodontist Dr. Amos Chi to handle the most challenging cases. Dr. Peterson Huang will work closely with Dr. Amos Chi (Prosthodontist), Dr. Brian Chang (Oral Surgeon), Dr. Leo Perez (Oral Surgeon), Dr. Ashley Seals (Periodontist), Dr. Stephen Tigani (Orthodontist), Dr. Pratik Patel (Endodontist), Dr. Joseph Lee (Endodontist), Dr.  Heather Sholander (Pediatric Dentist) and our team of general and restorative doctors, Dr. Eunjoo Stringer, Dr. Jared Lawson, Dr. Tammira Badakhshan, and Dr. Nikta Pashai.

Dr. Peterson Huang is a Dual Board-Certified Prosthodontist.  He grew up in Vancouver, Canada where he received his bachelor's in science degree in Integrated Sciences and a Minor in Music from the University of British Columbia. After obtaining his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, School of Dental Medicine, he received his Certificate of Specialist in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science from the University of Maryland, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor on the Dean's Faculty, teaching prosthodontics to the University of Maryland Dental School students. Dr. Huang has publications in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, "From childhood to adulthood: Oral Rehabilitation of a Patient with Ectodermal Dysplasia" and "The Effect of Various Disinfectants on Dental Shade Guides" (2014).

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (FACP), a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) and a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.  Dr. Huang is also a staff member in the Department of Surgery, INOVA Fairfax Hospital and is a member of the Tumor Board there and now a leader at PearlFection Dentistry in Frederick and Urbana Maryland.

When not in the office caring for his dental family, Dr. Huang enjoys finding new restaurants to try with family and friends and spending time with his three cats, Captain, Morgan, and MacCavity. He continues to play the piano, which he almost decided to do professionally, after his graduation with an Associates Degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

As a prosthodontist, he examines and treats all types of disabilities caused by loss of teeth and supporting structures, this is frequently accomplished with the use of dental implants, dentures and other prosthetic devices. With help from his highly trained team members, he provides advanced treatment plans for the construction of corrective restorations and prostheses to restore proper function and esthetics of the mouth, face, and jaw.

PearlFection's team of doctors and management made the decision to begin searching for a second Board Certified Prosthodontist when the workload for implant supported dentures got to the level that our existing team felt additional doctors were necessary. The team thought it would benefit the community if we had a second prosthodontist to handle the workload and to cover when our other prosthodontist was not on site.  Our search ended when we identified Dr. Huang after a national search.  Dr. Huang will spend most of his time working on regular dentures, full mouth rehabilitation cases and implant supported dentures, sometimes called "All on 4" implant supported dentures or hybrid dentures.
