Founder and Creative Director at SAKH Couture and SAKH Bridals, Oke Omogbonjubola, announce the launch of her new brand, Victorisa, which is a fast-rising brand focused on projecting the beauty and simplicity of the popular Adire prints. Inspired by her visit to Olumo Rock in Abeokuta as a teenager where she saw local women creating beautiful Adire designs, Omogbonjubola aims at producing trendy modern designs with Adire.
Adire is a resist-dyed cloth produced and worn by the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria in West Africa. The Yoruba label Adire, which means “tied and dyed,” was first applied to indigo-dyed cloth decorated with resist patterns around the turn of the twentieth century.
“Fashion is for me an expression of what we feel, think and see. Adire encapsulates that for the African woman. Bold, expressive, and beautiful, Adire explains African beauty with a mix of colors and captivating designs. I hope to bring this beautiful feeling to my clients through the Victorisa Brand,” says Oke Omogbonjubola, Founder, SAKH Bridals.
