Pintas & Mullins Awards Jaden Musacchio the "Dangers of Vaping" Scholarship

Pintas & Mullins awards incoming college freshman for her essay recognizing vaping's health problems as one of her motivations to say no to peer pressure.

CHICAGO, IL, May 08, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As part of its push to provide better awareness of health risks, personal injury law firm Pintas & Mullins has awarded its 2021 Dangers of Vaping scholarship to incoming college freshman Jaden Musacchio. A recent graduate of Cass High School in White, Georgia, Musacchio wrote about her perseverance against peer pressure during the rise of vaping.

"My genetic predisposition to addiction and personal knowledge of my own addictive tendencies is the deciding factor that prevents me from vaping," she wrote. Though the pressure to "fit in" in with peers can seem overwhelming, Musacchio's essay implored other high school and college students to think of the long-term effects, including "damage to lungs, asthma, nicotine addiction, and withdrawals, shaking, heart disease, heart attacks, and the stress of hiding the habit from adults."

As personal injury attorneys, the lawyers at Pintas & Mullins are proud to provide the $2,500 scholarship to a student who understands the dangers of vaping. In the time of COVID-19, which Musacchio points out can lead to vape-smokers becoming part of an at-risk or high-risk demographic. "The effects of Coronavirus have only added to the already long list of the dangers of vaping," she wrote in her winning essay.

Pintas & Mullins initiated the Dangers of Vaping scholarship in 2020. Attorneys Laura Mullins and William Pintas have worked with many injured people throughout their careers. As the law firm notes, "many people see vaping as a safe alternative to smoking cigarettes, [yet] this form of smoking still endangers users."
