Their Future Your Promise Our Mission

Chester, Jun 16, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Literacy Access Fund (LAF) is excited to announce its virtual 2020 Summer Reading Series for young learners. Once a month, the organization will host a librarian from across the country to read a story via Zoom. Registration is required to secure your spot and it is completely FREE to attend! Following storytime, each attendee will be e-mailed an Activity Pack that provides supplementary materials to the corresponding story including arts and crafts, worksheets, song ideas, and more.

Literacy Access Fund's mission is to make literacy a possibility for every child, in every community. The Summer Reading Series aims to keep children engaged academically and grow their literacy skills during the summer months. "I am thrilled that LAF is launching the virtual summer reading program this summer. It is now more important than ever that we each stay connected to the community," said Charlotte Wade, LAF Board of Directors Secretary. "It is my sincere hope that every child has access to the resources necessary to develop a lifelong love of reading and this new program is just what my family needs to combat the self-quarantine blues."

The goal is to keep all children reading. "Addressing knowledge divide is one of the most important initiatives we can think of to address the disparities in our society," said Vipon Kumar, MBA, LAF Board of Directors Treasurer. "I am so thrilled to work with Literacy Access Fund to bring the learning opportunities to where they are needed the most. LAF is utilizing technology and its proven platform to full force in these unprecedented times."
