The Nintendo Switch was already one of the most popular gaming consoles on the market after its 2017 release. But the combination of a blockbuster game, "Animal Crossing: New Horizons", and stay-at-home restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic, helped boost Switch sales to record levels.
