The more than 42,700 people who have sued Bayer, contending that its Roundup weed killer caused their cancer, were supplied and supported by "a sophisticated legal ecosystem" that included not only tort lawyers but also marketing firms who find plaintiffs, financiers who bankroll law firms and scientists who analyze medical data.
