Celanese, a global leader in polymer emulsions, announced today that it will increase the price of all PVAc homopolymer, VAE co-polymer, acrylic and vinyl-acrylic emulsions sold in North America by $0.05/wet pound. This increase applies to all applications. The increase will be effective for shipments on or after Dec. 15, 2007, or as contracts allow. Pricing will reflect unique technology and delivery requirements for each product.
This increase is in addition to the ones previously announced effective for July 1 and October 15 of this year.
“This price increase is driven primarily by continued, significant increases in raw materials, feedstocks, transportation and energy costs,” said Phil McDivitt, vice president of Celanese’s Emulsions business.
