Waldorf School of the Peninsula Offers 33rd Annual Holiday Faire

By: PRLog
For one day each year, the WSP Los Altos campus transforms into a magical winter wonderland. The joyous mood, creative activities, and welcoming community of people at our faire invite you to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with us.
LOS ALTOS, Calif. - Nov. 19, 2018 - PRLog -- Waldorf School of the Peninsula is hosting its 33rd annual Holiday Faire from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2018 on its Los Altos campus located at 11311 Mora Drive.

The annual WSP Holiday Faire offers a festive, nourishing, and gentle alternative to the usual holiday experience for families, couples, and all other members of our neighborhood and community. The Faire features a variety of hands-on activities for people of all ages, including dipping beeswax candles, making wreaths using fresh greenery, and handcrafting small treasures, not to mention a chance to shop at one of the largest and most beautiful holiday boutiques in the area.

Onsite workshops for children and mature crafters offer opportunities to create gifts such as homemade jump ropes and tea candle lanterns. The day will also feature old-fashioned games of skill for younger children, such as Treasure Mountain, Leap of Faith, Troll Bridge, and Catapult Castle. Every game ends with a small, nature-inspired treasure as a prize.

The Russian Tea Room returns this year, where the serenity of the season dwells and lingers supported by live, acoustic music, hot tea, and sweet treats. Our very popular silk marionette fairy tale puppet show returns this year with "Mother Holle" and will be performed several times during the day. Our signature offering – the Gnome Adventure – gives the young and young at heart the chance to crawl through a peaceful, magical wonderland featuring beautifully crafted vignettes of gnomes celebrating each of the four seasons, rendered with natural materials that nourish eyes and hearts. At the end of the journey, each child receives a small gem to remind them of the magical journey they enjoyed.

WSP's celebrated Holiday Boutique gift store will feature over 10,000 handmade and unique items for sale, including European wooden toys, candles, knit scarves, elegant shawls, children's books, parenting and craft books, yarn and knitting materials, natural arts and craft supplies, dolls, and rich essential oils and lotions. This beautiful selection of items offers something for nearly everyone on your holiday list. Holiday Faire guests are also encouraged to shop for and to buy holiday trees at the Faire.

Food trucks will be onsite from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm offering warm and delicious food for Faire guests. Free parking with shuttle service to the Faire is located at the Antiochian Church at 380 Magdalena Avenue.

Admission is free; tickets for various activities are available online for pre-purchase here as well as onsite on Faire day.
