Earl Bakken, the man behind Medtronic, dies at 94

Bakken, who as a child loved the mad scientist in the movie, 'Frankenstein," developed the world's first wearable, battery-powered, transistorized heart pacemaker and commercialized the first implantable pacemaker, the product that would build Medtronic into a med-tech giant.
