Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), one of the world’s leading active investment managers, announced today that it has further built out its US Fixed Income team with the addition of 10 new team members. Following the hires of Carl W. Pappo Jr., Head of US Fixed Income, and Frank Salem, Senior Portfolio Manager, US Fixed Income, the firm welcomes several team members responsible for portfolio management, trading and research to AllianzGI. The US Fixed Income team now consists of 12 members who will help launch strategies in US Core, Core Plus, Liability Driven Investing (LDI) and Preferred Securities, filling a critical gap for AllianzGI in the US market.

Karl Chang, CFA, joins AllianzGI as Portfolio Manager, US Fixed Income, bringing 20 years of experience in fixed income investing. Most recently, Karl was a Portfolio Manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments where he worked with Frank Salem since 1998. At AllianzGI, Karl and Frank will seek to provide customized investment solutions for clients in LDI strategies. Karl will report to Frank in his new role.

Willow Piersol, CFA and Jeff Cicirelli, CFA join AllianzGI as senior analysts for US Fixed Income. They bring more than 20 and 13 years of investment experience, respectively, most recently as senior credit analysts at Columbia Threadneedle and will focus on credit research at AllianzGI. Willow and Jeff will report to Carl Pappo.
