I was a plucky 12-year-old at the time of the blizzard of 1978 and remember it like it was 40 years ago. While most kids got to sleep in and enjoy the string of school cancelations that followed the storm that crippled cities from Lake Erie to the Ohio River, I had to work. Yes, Virginia, newspapers used to be delivered by kids.
