The Thermal Club delivers state of the art track safety to a world class racing community

By: PRLog
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Nov. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- When motorsports enthusiasts drive their performance cars on a technically challenging course, how does a track provide a unique experience while protecting the members and their race car investment. Over four years on a combined three tracks, The Thermal Club has delivered an innovative experience by partnering with RaceAmerica in an ongoing commitment to track safety.

In August, 2013, The Thermal Club rolled out their first RaceAmerica wireless track safety products with the installation of wireless Track Safety Lights on the South Palm Track. This gave a new level of safety by enabling communications from race control directly to the drivers.

After completion of the North Palm Track, in September, 2014 The Thermal Club extended the RaceAmerica track safety system across their second track.

In June 2017, The Thermal Club equipped their new Desert Track with the latest in track safety products from RaceAmerica, extending their wireless track safety solution, while adding Digital Safety Flags to all three tracks.

Utilizing the extended features of the new TrackSafetyDigitalEX software, Digital Safety Flags displaying traditional fabric flag images are matched to Track Safety Lights displaying animated LED panels and controlled at the same time. With a complete three track solution, this unique approach provides drivers more information on track conditions.

To maximize the effectiveness of the Digital Safety Flags on track, Jeff Rodrigues, Track Operations Manager, developed a unique approach to flag communications to the drivers. Alternating standard flags with simple text allows drivers with color blindness or heavy tinted visors to easily detect track conditions. This messaging solution provides a higher level of clarity on track, and gives The Thermal Club the ability to communicate directly with novice and seasoned drivers.

While providing a higher level of track safety, the addition of the track safety system also reduced operational costs by reducing the need for corner workers and providing a higher level of consistency at every turn.
