  • Larry M. Lawrence has been promoted from senior vice president strategies and staff studies and assistant to the chairman to executive vice president and assistant to the chairman of KCS.

These promotions recognize the contributions of Scott, Warren and Larry to the success of our companies, and positions them to take on added responsibility to ensure the companies future success, said Michael R. Haverty, chairman and chief executive officer of KCS.

Arthur L. Shoener remains president and chief operating officer of KCS and president and chief executive officer of KCSR. As chief operating officer of KCSR, Mr. Arvidson will be the number two executive at that subsidiary.

William H. Nolen has been promoted from vice president transportation to senior vice president operations for Kansas City Southern de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. Jose and I agree that Bill is the right person to serve as senior vice president operations for KCSM, because of his extensive transportation experience and demonstrated leadership in Mexico over the last year and a half, said Mr. Shoener.

In addition to these personnel changes, Richard M. Zuza, senior vice president international purchasing and materials will now report to executive vice president and chief financial officer Patrick J. Ottensmeyer. Mr. Zuza formerly reported to Mr. Shoener.
