crowdSPRING Creatives Use Design to Get Out the Vote in 2016 Election

By: PRLog
Dozens of designers from around the world submit their best design concepts urging Americans to get to the polls in today's election.
CHICAGO - Nov. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- The stakes couldn't be higher in this election cycle, and the creatives at crowdSPRING are doing their part to get out the vote. From the U.S. to the Philippines, Mexico to Egypt, they're contributing designs urging American voters to make their voice heard in the 2016 election.

Designers were asked to submit their most creative visual concepts encouraging Americans to do their civic duty. The only real restriction was that the designs be non-partisan. But in the spirit of democracy, crowdSPRING won't be selecting the winners in this project. Instead, the public will vote by liking the submitted images on crowdSPRING's Facebook page. Whichever design accrues the most likes by the time the polls close in the United States will take the cake.

"As a platform that's contributed to what we see as the democratization of design," explains crowdSPRING founder and CEO Ross Kimbarovsky, "it should come as no surprise that we find participation in the political democratic process important. This project, with its unique voting component, seemed like a great way to walk the walk, showcase the talents of crowdSPRING's dynamic designers, and encourage folks to get to the polls in a historic election."

The creatives participating in the project share this sense of civic responsibility.

"What drew me was a chance to be a part of something as important as getting people to vote. As a designer, my job doesn't necessarily save the world, but I'd like to think that I somehow make a difference," said designer Tiffany Reed.

For others, the project offered an opportunity to explore the power of design as a method of communication and persuasion.

"Here, with this 2016 election, I can actually speak my truth and be assertive with the message," points out designer Pamela Harvey. "This is an unbeatable combination. It's not just a beauty contest - it's helping to effect change and growth."

Whatever the outcome of today's election, we'll likely have a new president-elect by the end of the day, and a winner in the crowdSPRING GOTV design contest shortly thereafter. Voting in the contest continues until 1:00 AM EST on November 9th, 2016, when the last poll closes in Alaska.
