NEW YORK - Sept. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Unni Turrettini has been busy. Her book, "The Mystery of the Lone Wolf Killer: Anders Behring Brievik and the Threat of Terror in Plain Sight", has received positive reviews and she is working with Linda Langton, of Langtons International Agency to find a publishing home for her new book, Price of Peace. She appeared as a speaker at the prestigious Chilton Club in Boston and will be returning to the US from her home in Norway in October to speak at the Yale and Colony Clubs. Then on November 5, 2016, she is a presenter at the Tedx Institute Le Rosey in Rollo, Switzerland.
Right before the latest attacks in New York and New Jersey, interviews about her appeared in WWD (Woman's Wear Daily online) and on Medium.com. Since she researched and studied lone wolf killers in depth, her insights are startlingly accurate.
In the WWD article, Turrettini discusses her research and conclusions regarding Brievik and other lone killers, "They're so disconnected from themselves and society and from their own pain that they can't even take the revenge out on the people who actually hurt them. What happens is it has to be societal. They're so narcissistic they believe that they're so important and the world needs to know....
"They're not psychopaths in the sense they're getting satisfaction from the killing. The killing is just necessary for their cause. They believe they're saviors."
In her Medium.com article, she elaborates on her motivation for tackling such a disturbing and controversial subject. "Let me be clear. Anders Behring Breivik is a monster. He slaughtered 77 people and wounded hundreds more. And right now he is getting all the attention he ever wanted. He has an audience, and instead of locking him up and throwing away the key, he still commandeers an audience and media attention.
"It was that it happened so close to home. Who could have thought a home grown terrorist would be in Norway? As I followed the trial, I researched everything I could find on similar killings worldwide."
Her book and her speeches share insights into such lone wolves as Tim McVeigh, Eric Rudolph and the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski. She separates them from other types of mass murderers such as occurred in Aurora, Colorado or Sandy Hook, Connecticut. "All children are born beautiful and untainted, including the lone wolves. Something happened to them along the way. By recognizing the warning signs and giving them the help they need before they become killers, we can prevent the next massacre and help them rise to greatness instead of letting them sink into the spiral of destruction."
Her Nobel Peace Prize book Price of Peace also takes a controversial stance on that venerable institution, and Turrettini turns an unblinking eye as to the process of Norway's selection of the winner. As she states in the Medium.com article, "It's been a fascinating study of this prize. I mean, there are only so many prestigious awards: the Academy Awards, the Nobel Prizes, and the Nobel Peace Prize. I wanted to see what happened, who Alfred Nobel really was, and how the evolution of the Peace Prize as a way to promote peace has become a popularity contest, with Norway choosing the victor."
