EVANSTON, Ill. - Feb. 1, 2016 - PRLog -- In the thunder lizard footsteps of Jurassic World and The Good Dinosaur, a new dinosaur book and app series for kids is being launched via Kickstarter campaign (http://www.zoobooks.com/dino) by Zoobooks, the award-winning kids magazine about animals that’s published by Wildlife Education, Ltd.
“Kids love dinosaurs, so as in Zoobooks, the new dino series will build on their passion to nurture a love of learning about science and the environment,” says Zoobooks Editor Renee Burch.
Zoobooks has been inspiring kids for over 35 years. In that time it’s won about every award given to periodicals for children. This same award-winning creative work will go into each title of the new dinosaur series for kids. In 2004 Zootles was launched for kids ages 3-6, and then in 2007 Zoobies for kids 0-3 years old. All three titles are about animals, each edition focusing on an animal or set of animals. A Zoobooks collection provides young learners with their own wildlife encyclopedia. All titles now come in interactive apps for computers and tablets.
According to Burch, the new dinosaur series will follow the award-winning Zoobooks approach: combining spectacular scientifically-correct illustrations with engaging text, tailored for early learning. The premiere dinosaur title will debut in October and Kickstarter backers will be the first to see it.
“Kickstarter backers will help develop the series with input on which dinosaurs to cover, what features to include,” says Burch.
This is the first new title Zoobooks has launched through crowd funding. The project is called “Bring Dinosaurs Back to Life” on the Kickstarter website (http.//www.zoobooks.com/dino). Backers pledge a donation to support the project and in exchange get “rewards” as in a public radio pledge drive. The dinosaur project rewards include: a copy of the premiere dinosaur book & app, subscriptions to Zoobooks and T-Rex t-shirts. It is over 60% funded with two weeks remaining.
“We’ve wanted a dinosaur series for a long time, but since we don’t include advertising in our magazines, we don’t have an R&D budget,” explains Zoobooks Publisher Bob Harper. “Kickstarter is a way to make this happen with the help of friends and fans of Zoobooks and anybody who loves dinosaurs and kids. We still need help to make this happen!”
