The markets traded mixed during the midday with the Dow gaining 46 points to 16,414 as new home sales fell 3.3% in February. Nasdaq slipped 7 points to 4227. 

On the upside 

Bargain hunters lifted shares of Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: KERX).

Shares of Nord Anglia Education (NYSE: NORD) soared on its first trading day.

Fuwei Films (NYSE: FFHL) extended its gains.

On the downside

Investors locked in profits on Ballard Power Systems (Nasdaq: BLDP) and FuelCell Energy (Nasdaq: FCEL). 

Profit taking sank shares of Arotech (Nasdaq: ARTX).

Francesca’s Holdings (Nasdaq: FRAN) disappointed with lower fourth quarter earnings and forecast current quarter results below expectations.

In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of nearly 10 to 9 on the NYSE and by more than 5 to 3 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 rose 4 points to 1870. Bitcoin rose $4.42 or 0.76%% to $586.26.
