Counterfeit ring connected to Hezbollah terrorist: Seton J. Seto, ACE Orange County, and Mohssen Y. Dayekh o/a ACE Middle East sued in Superior Court of California, County of Orange, USA
PRLog - May 2, 2015 - SANTA ANA, Calif. -- On April 23rd, 2015, Peter Fabian for himself and Advanced Coatings Enterprises Inc. (A.C.E.) filed suit in California State Court, County of Orange against ACE Orange County, Seton Seto, ACE Middle East and Mohssen Dayekh seeking damages for: deceit, slander, defamation, the uttering of forged documents, interference of contracts, passing-off, and counterfeiting. The case is filed under 30-2015-00783146-CU-BT-CJC, Superior Court of California, County of Orange, Santa Ana Court Office.

An A.C.E. spokesperson said the lengthy investigation leading to this suit was undertaken in consultation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Home Land Security Investigations (DHSI), Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Interior Security Forces Lebanon (I.F.S.) along with The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) police anti-counterfeiting/terrorists agencies around the world. Also consulted were peer corporations who have been similarly victimized by counterfeiting.

According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the trade in counterfeit goods was $250 billion in 2009, resulting in $600 billion in losses for manufacturers. The International Chamber of Commerce estimated as much as 7% of all goods sold may be counterfeit in origin, with some sources believing this figure to be conservative and an under-reporting of the problem. Meanwhile, INTERPOL has found that product counterfeiting is a significant and growing source of financing for terrorist groups around the world. http://www.interpol.int/News-and-media/News/2003/PR019

During the course of its investigation, A.C.E. found that ACE Orange County’s Middle East agent, Mohssen Y. Dayekh, operating as ACE Middle East, has open ties to Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, a finding consistent with INTERPOL’s warning of the association between terrorist groups and product counterfeiting. Details of the investigation have been provided by ACE to CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service), FBI, Department of Homeland Security, INTERPOL and the General Directorate of State Security in Lebanon.

Facing an estimated 200 groups, web sites and individuals counterfeiting ACE laminates, the company began undertaking a market education campaign in 2012, a measure recognized by industry and fraud experts as one of the primary methods of combatting this international problem. "It is A.C.E.’s intention to expand these market educational programs and will be coupled with our work and cooperation with international law enforcement agencies, border protection services and financial institution," said A.C.E. spokesperson.

According to A.C.E. spokesperson, the investigation remains ongoing with potentially additional defendants being added to the suit.
