Priceline.com (Nasdaq: PCLN) announced today the launch of a limited-time offer where customers who book a published-price hotel room will receive bonus cash coupons worth up to $100 toward the future purchase of a priceline.com Name Your Own Price® hotel room.
The bonus cash offer applies to published-price bookings made through priceline.com for over 18,000 participating hotels. Rooms must be booked by August 31, 2007 and stays must be completed by October 31, 2007. Bonus cash coupons will be distributed after a qualifying hotel stay is completed. Coupons will have a value between $10 and $100 depending on the actual amount of the published-price hotel purchase. Bonus cash coupons can be applied only toward the future purchase of a priceline.com Name Your Own Price® hotel room. Coupons must be used by May 31, 2008.
“The bonus cash offer is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the customers who have loyally supported both of our hotel reservation services,” said priceline.com Chief Marketing Officer Brett Keller. “For customers who have primarily used one of our hotel services, this gives them the opportunity to try the other service and broaden their use of priceline.com’s money saving hotel services.”

Priceline.com offers two types of hotel reservation services to fit different customer needs and requirements. Customers who want a specific hotel will prefer priceline.com’s published-price hotel service, where they can choose a destination and dates, and see all of the available hotels assembled in an easy to search grid with star ratings, pictures, descriptions, amenities and competitive prices. For many hotels, there are ratings and reviews from actual customers and professional hotel reviews from the Zagat Survey that include numerical ratings for a hotel’s rooms, service, dining and facilities, along with a commentary on the property. Zagat also powers Priceline’s Destination Guides, featuring commentary and reviews of restaurants, museums, nightclubs, sports venues, sightseeing spots, historical landmarks and more.
Flexible bargain-hunting customers, who only need to specify a star-level in a particular part of town, can save even more by using priceline.com’s Name Your Own Price® hotel service. Name Your Own Price® hotel customers can save up to 50% compared to published-prices found on major travel reservation Web sites.*
Priceline.com now offers a special online tutorial that gives customers tips for getting a great deal on a Name Your Own Price® hotel room. The short online video shows customers how to pick the right neighborhood and star level, how to determine their offer price, and explains what happens behind the scenes when an offer is submitted. To view the video, visit http://www.priceline.com/promo/toughlove.asp.
* Over the last 12 months, a substantial percentage of accepted offers have resulted in savings of up to 50% in comparison to the lowest published rates on other leading online travel sites for the same itinerary. Priceline.com’s Name Your Own Price® reservation system is different from other online travel sites. With priceline.com’s Name Your Own Price® reservation system, the exact hotel is shown only after purchase. There is no guarantee that hotels, dates or prices will be available and savings are not guaranteed. Actual prices and availability are always subject to change.
