Fusion-io Announces HP First to Market with Atomic Series

LAS VEGAS, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- [HP Discover Conference Booth 2028] -- Fusion-io (NYSE: FIO) today announced that HP is the first-to-market Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) server partner to offer Atomic Series, the newest flash memory platform featuring industry leading performance, proven reliability and the largest capacities of up to 6.4TB per product. Companies both big and small that deploy HP ProLiant Servers in their datacenters can now integrate Atomic Series to power application acceleration.

Fusion-io - At the speed of NOW.

"Customers expect integrated solutions, combined from leading hardware and software companies to drive tangible business value," said Ian Whiting, Fusion-io EVP Global Field Operations. "Our latest collaboration with HP on Atomic Series enables breakthrough performance to applications, delivering the right information, to the right users at the right time."

Introduced last week on June 4 in San Francisco amongst Fusion-io customers, partners and industry luminaries, Atomic Series is built on foundational technology achievements with the latest third generation Fusion-io memory-based architecture. Architected for application acceleration through innovative software advancements, Atomic Series delivers much higher performance than typical SSDs in a fraction of the space, making it a perfect fit for a broad range of applications including database and cloud applications, big data analytics, and hyperscale workloads. Placing Atomic Series directly in HP servers enables dramatic database transaction performance acceleration and allows customers to benefit from real-time intelligence for business insights.

Fusion-io and HP continue to build on a rich history of flash memory innovations with nearly 20 reference architectures available today from HP for virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), database and security. For instance, using the previous generation of ioMemory products, HP and Fusion-io provided Oracle database performance to deliver over 2.5 million sustained IOPS where the entire server and flash memory solution fit in just 12 rack units. Fusion-io and HP also demonstrated real-world virtualization performance leadership with six world record wins with VMware VMmark, an industry standard benchmark designed to quantify and measure the performance of virtualized datacenters.
