FTSE slides with earnings in focus; Lloyds, Rio drop

The U.K.’s FTSE 100 index drops for the first time in seven days as some of the benchmark’s major companies, including Lloyds Banking Group, Rolls-Royce and Rio Tinto, decline after reporting earnings.
