Silver Mom's Choice Award goes to author Robin Taylor-Chiarello!

By: PRLog
PRLog - Sep. 25, 2013 - TROY, N.Y. -- New Shelves Distribution is proud to announce the release of  It Only Takes One Friend  (ISBN: 9780615786148, $19.95) by Robin Taylor-Chiarello and the re-release of The Blue Lobster’s Holiday! (ISBN:  9781467530637, $19.95), also by Robin Taylor-Chiarello, in time for the holidays.

It Only Takes One Friend has received a Silver Mom's Choice Award for the endearing story of Little Chief, a young bison, who is chosen to replace a retiring elder at Beech Hill Farm and Bison Ranch.  He is unsure about leaving his friends, moving to a new place, and coping with the journey.

To his surprise, Little Chief is warmly greeted at his new location by a chicken named Abigail Frizzle.  He is put to ease by her kindness and desire to make him feel welcome.  Little Chief quickly learns that it only takes on friend to make you feel at home! It Only Takes One Friend is a story that teaches the responsibility of accepting friendship and passing it on.

The Blue Lobster’s Holiday!  Is a charming story about Sandytown, a great place to be, a community of love and diversity. Blue Lobster has returned to this beloved sea colony in time for the winter holidays and he wants to celebrate them all. Enjoy this wining tale about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza, and respecting how your neighbors celebrate. The Blue Lobster’s Holiday! is a perfect conversation starter for children in class to discuss how and what they celebrate.

Robin Taylor-Chiarello has been a primary school art and art history teacher and has enjoyed a 20-year career designing health care environments.  She is an alumna of Finch College and Harvard Graduate School of Design and has held memberships in the International Interior Design Association and American Institute of Architects.

She loves creating multi-cultural children’s environments and recently designed a collection of African-inspired borders and murals for Hearts of the Father Children’s Orphanage in Ghana.

She is a past president of United Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey and was appointed to the Office of the Public Advocate for the Developmentally Disabled for handicapped housing by former New Jersey Governor, Brendan Byrne.

She resides in Chatham, New Jersey and Center Lovell, Maine with her husband, Robert, and dog, Taxi.
