The European Coneeect network’s first “Educating Entrepreneurship Educators” training week took place between 22 and 26 July in Munich. It was attended by around 50 entrepreneurship professors and higher education lecturers from 11 countries. This innovative training concept for teachers of entrepreneurship involves an intensive exchange of ideas with each other and with experts, creative workshops and visits to innovative companies, start-ups and unconventional teaching environments.
PRLog - Aug 21, 2013 - MUNICH, Germany -- The first Coneeect training week made an important contribution towards the further integration of the European community for entrepreneurship teaching. “New partnerships have been formed, projects have been initiated and the international network has become a lot more dynamic,” said Prof. Dr. Klaus Sailer, CEO of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) at the Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS), that was hosting the first Coneeect training week.
“In addition to the practical training sessions, participants worked on new formats for teaching entrepreneurship. We’re looking forward to building on these at the next Coneeect training week in Sofia and we hope that the community continues to forge strong relationships via the Coneeect online platform.” An e-platform has just been launched for the community on the Coneeect website www.coneeect.eu to promote active exchange between Coneeect participants and entrepreneurship experts. The platform has been designed to facilitate ongoing mentoring and the exchange of teaching materials.
“The training weeks do not necessarily build on each other. Entrepreneurship lecturers from all over Europe are very welcome at any of the training sessions, irrespective of location,” explained Anke Zschoegner, who is responsible for the program at SCE. The next training week is to be held in Sofia from 10th to 14th March 2014, and will be followed by training weeks in Aberdeen, Tel Aviv and Lisbon. Following the introductory event – which included a keynote speech from Prof. Dr. Alain Fayolle, winner of the 2013 European Entrepreneurship Education Award – the participants proceeded straight to the learning and practical sessions which took place at MUAS, in the SCE and in companies, incubators and unusual teaching environments, such as nursery schools. Practical input took the form of an exchange of ideas with innovation managers from a number of companies located in Munich, including Google, Siemens and Allianz, and a discussion of current issues with Munich-based start-ups. Participants also had plenty of opportunity for networking outside the learning and creative modules. Innovation games were played at a James Bond-themed party and an “Inno Slam Tram” gave participants the chance to pitch their entrepreneurship ideas in an entertaining way during a tour of the city on a hired tram.
The concluding policy dialogue focused on the exchange of ideas between the entrepreneurship lecturers and policy makers. Among those taking part in the event were the Vice President of MUAS, Prof. Dr. Christiane Fritze, Dr. Wolfgang Thiel from the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and OECD Director and Head of the OECD Center for Entrepreneurship and Local Development, Sergio Arzeni.
