Model Moves Boot Camp Teaches Real People How to Model on May 11th in NYC

By: PRLog
Model Moves Boot Camp gives real people the tools they need to begin a commercial print modeling career: movement in front of the camera, casting techniques with a top casting director, and a photo shoot with great photos to help launch a modeling career. Taught by former Ford/Elite model Shawn Ehlers who presently shoots lifestyle photos for top commercial agencies in NYC. Also, joining her for the workshop will be one of NYC's finest casting directors.

PR Log - Apr 05, 2013 - Do you think you needed to be young, gorgeous, thin, buff and tall to become model? The answer is absolutely no. Commercial print modeling, the selling of products and services for advertising is an enormous industry. Flip through the magazines and look at TV commercials and you will notice that most of the people are real people, not high fashion models. "Over the past couple of years we've definitely seen a trend of our clients seeking everyday looking people who are real and approachable," says agent Michelle Kilic from Ramonas Talent, a top NYC commercial print agency.  The only requirement for this business is that you have a great personality.

Shawn Ehlers, a former Ford and Elite model walked the runways of Milan, Paris and New York and was booked for print campaigns like Chanel and Gucci.  Now, after years of success in the world of fashion, Ehlers has turned her talents to teaching real people to become models.  As commercial print model coach and photographer she created exciting, practical and fun Model Moves Boot Camp workshops. Ehlers passes on the valuable lessons she’s learned about presence, personality, etiquette on the set, movement in front of the camera and casting techniques that help you book the job.

Her experience on the other side of the camera as a NYC lifestyle and fashion photographer, combined with her warm, encouraging style, brings out the best in her workshop participants.  She empowers them, using proven methods and they get great photos to help launch their careers. Topics covered include:

Overview: Insight into the commercial print modeling world. The roles you can play, your type and the kind of work you will get as a commercial model.

Casting Techniques: Work with a top NYC commercial casting director. Learn
what to do and what not to do on a casting and how to book that job! Get the edge in the competitive world of modeling.

Presence and Presentation: How to enter a room wow-ing everyone with your dynamic personality and presence.

Movement in front of the camera: To make it as a successful commercial print model you need to connect to the camera, move with ease and grace and work well with props. Personality is key to making that energy shine through on camera. How to create a series of moves and how “not to pose” for the camera. As an added bonus you will receive a Model Moves DVD that has a lot of tips and techniques for movement in front of the camera.

Photo Shoot with two looks including professional hair/makeup: You’ll begin to build a repertoire of moves for the camera and understand what it takes to become a working model. Get great lifestyle photos to jump start your career.
