Networking, Storage and Telecom Leaders Tap Kaon to Bolster Product Presentation and Sales

Kaon Interactive, Inc., creators of 3D interactive sales and marketing solutions that bring products to life, today announced that its list of networking, storage and telecom equipment customers continues to grow. To address industry challenges, these leading companies are employing Kaons interactive product solutions to improve the customer experience while also reducing costs associated with shipping and product presentations. Ciena Corporation (NASDAQ: CIEN), Juniper Networks, Inc., and Dot Hill (NASDAQ: HILL) are among those leveraging Kaons solutions at tradeshows, in Executive Briefing Centers, and on their websites, to better communicate product differentiation among multiple audiences (customers, channels, sales, marketing, and training).

Kaons highly realistic 3D product models allow companies to present sophisticated products and demonstrations virtually, both online and offline. Extraordinary interactivity allows customers to experience products by viewing them from every angle and exploring options and features (opening compartments, etc.). The Kaon v-OSK, a high-definition, large-format display with touch-enabled interactivity, allows customers to review products at their own pace and preference. The combination of the virtual product demonstration and relevant product messaging creates a more engaging and memorable customer experience.

The Kaon v-OSK can be used at a variety of sales and marketing venues to complement or replace physical products. Once the virtual product models are created, they can be repurposed across multiple marketing venues including in-store, tradeshows, executive briefing centers, websites, 3D PDFs and sales laptops, helping companies achieve a true multichannel sales and marketing strategy.

We were just weeks away from a major tradeshow where we planned to display our latest product the MX 960 Ethernet Services Router but all available systems were spoken for by customers, said Susan Lane, Americas Field Marketing Manager for Juniper Networks, developers of purpose-built, high-performance IP platforms. We couldnt pull systems out of customer networks, so instead, Kaon was able to develop a fully interactive 3D model that looked exactly like the physical product. Attendees were able to see and interact with the product on the Kaon v-OSK, an experience they found to be extremely engaging.

For Dot Hill Systems, a market leader whose best-in-class storage solutions provide enterprise-class security, availability and data protection, storage evangelist Tom Sheffield said, With the launch of our second generation 2730T RAID array, we wanted to take a next-generation approach to our marketing collateral and sales tools. Having a format that allowed the customer to tour the product real-time was crucial.

Sheffield continued, With the embedded 3D model, our product data sheets offered superior first look information unlike any other marketing collateral available. Kaons interactive 3D documents provided our sales associates, both on calls and remotely, the ability to enable prospects to look under the hood and kick the tires which ultimately helped close business. The 3D model was then incorporated into our product expo at this years Storage Networking World conference, offering an engaging tool for our staff and an interactive experience for our customers.

Ciena, a leading provider of optical networking equipment and solutions including communication network platforms initially implemented the Kaon v-OSK to take products on the road - virtually - to demonstrate product features and benefits in a creative, cost-effective way. Not only have we been able to realize tremendous cost savings, but weve also created an effective, fascinating way to showcase our products, in every marketing channel - which is really resonating with our customers, said Bill Rozier, VP of Global Marketing for Ciena Corporation. Weve truly transformed the way were presenting our products, and our customers experience consistency at every touch point, which is imperative in our market.

Gavin Finn, president and CEO of Kaon Interactive, said, Its no surprise that these kinds of companies are benefiting enormously from our interactive solutions. Often their products are very large, so shipping can be costly, and theres always the risk of damage. He continued, Furthermore, our platform gives them the ability to deliver complex product information in a concise and consistent experience across multiple channels, allowing these companies to truly leverage their investment.
