ABINGDON, Va., May 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At the company's annual meeting in Kingsport, Tenn., stockholders of Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:ANR) approved the election of seven nominees for director and ratified the appointment of KPMG LLP as independent auditors for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2007.
The approved slate included six incumbents that were re-elected: John S. Brinzo, E. Linn Draper, Jr., Glenn A. Eisenberg, John W. Fox, Jr., Michael J. Quillen and Ted G. Wood. Stockholders also elected Mary Ellen Bowers as a new director. Bowers is currently executive vice president, corporate development of Manitowoc Company, Inc., a manufacturer of engineered capital goods and support services. Prior to joining Manitowoc, Bowers was vice president and general manager, aerospace and industrial products at Alcoa Wheel & Forged Products.
