Allianz Global Investors announced today that it has hired Jill Lohrfink to lead the firm’s institutional client business in the United States.

In this role, Jill will serve on the U.S. Executive Committee and will have primary responsibility for leading institutional business development, service and overall strategy for the U.S. institutional market. She will officially join the firm on April 2 and will report to Brian Gaffney, CEO of Allianz Global Investors U.S.

Her insight and expertise will be invaluable as we look to expand our presence in this market.”

Jill brings more than 25 years of industry experience to this role having most recently served as Managing Director, Global Head of Consultant Relations at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). Prior to assuming her Consultant Relations role in 2001, Jill led GSAM’s Public Funds Business Development and Client Service effort. Before joining GSAM in 1997, Jill was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns Asset Management (BSAM) where she served as a Senior Portfolio Manager as well as Head of Public Funds Business Development and Client Service. She joined Bear Stearns from Progressive Partners, Inc. where she served as Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for municipal bonds and preferred stocks. Jill began her career at Kidder Peabody & Co., where she led the team responsible for Short Duration Trading, Underwriting and Sales in the Municipal Bond Department. She holds a BSBA degree in Finance from Georgetown University.
