Debt worries crushed American equities once again in Tuesday trading as all three of the major benchmarks started the day in the red and failed to come back into the green to close out the session. The Dow led on the downside falling by 0.7% while the S&P 500 fell by 0.4% and the Nasdaq dipped by 0.1% in comparison. Solid performances out of TLAB and BRCM helped to carry the tech sector ahead of the other corners of the market on what was otherwise another rocky day. In commodity markets, most resources finished the day higher as most energy and soft commodities rose, led by a 1% gain in RBOB futures and a 4.1% jump in sugar prices.
