Business Inventories increased by 0.8% in December to $1,435.4 billion lower than the consensus estimate of a 0.6% increase. Business inventories had increased by 0.2% in November, and currently stand 8.0% more than December 2009 levels. The inventories/sales ratio was 1.25 at the end of December, compared to 1.26 recorded a year ago.
