Halstad Telephone Company Selects ADC Equipment To Build FTTP Network Serving Rural Minnesota and North Dakota Communities

ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT)(www.adc.com), a leading supplier of infrastructure solutions for fiber deployments, announced today that Halstad Telephone Company (HTC), a three-time winner of stimulus funding awards provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, has selected ADC’s fiber connectivity and management solutions for its FTTP network. The network deployment, which began early this year and is expected to be completed mid-2011, includes residences and businesses in Hillsboro, N.D., and six exchanges in and around Halstad, Minn.

“As more of our customers rely on broadband services in their businesses and lives every day, HTC is committed to providing the best service experience possible,” said Tom Maroney, chief executive officer at HTC in Halstad, Minn. “We selected ADC equipment because of our previous experience with the company’s quality products. With its compact and easy-to-use design, ADC’s equipment, such as the LSX panel, can be installed quickly and economically making it a good fit for our needs. Also, ADC’s fast response to our unique deployment challenges more than met our expectations.”

Currently, HTC provides residential and business data services to 2500 locations within its network. This year almost 280 miles of fiber were added and the company plans to install nearly 300 miles of fiber optic cable in the months ahead to increase its broadband capability to 100 Mbps at these locations.

ADC offers complete, end-to-end network infrastructure solutions for FTTX networks that save time and money, and help improve customer satisfaction. Products currently being deployed by HTC include ADC’s LSX 288 fiber panels; FiberGuide® fiber management systems; RiserGuide™ on-demand cable management; and PowerWorx® power distribution units. All of these products and others in ADC’s portfolio are accepted by the USDA Rural Development Telecommunications program, allowing them to be used in the expansion of broadband services to underserved and rural communities.
