Following the June launch of the Allianz Global Investors Center for Behavioral Finance, the firm announced today the formation of an Academic Advisory Board composed of five leading academics from the fields of behavioral finance and behavioral science. Working closely with the Center’s Chief Behavioral Economist, Professor Shlomo Benartzi, the new advisory board will help ensure that the Center remains on the leading edge of applied behavioral finance. Professor Benartzi of UCLA Anderson School of Management, a prominent expert in behavioral finance, was named the Center’s Chief Behavioral Economist in June.
The Academic Advisory Board consists of the following members:
- Nicholas Barberis of the Yale School of Management;
- Kent Daniel of the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University;
- Daniel Goldstein of London Business School and Yahoo Research;
- Noah J. Goldstein of UCLA Anderson School of Management; and
- John W. Payne of Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
“The members of the Center’s Academic Advisory Board have been chosen on the basis of significant achievement, experience and innovation in behavioral science and behavioral finance,” said Prof. Benartzi. “It is an honor to bring these academics together to reinforce our commitment to empowering people to make better financial decisions.”
