Apollo Data Technologies Continues to Expand Given Hospital CFOs' Demand for Automated, Data-Mining Solutions for the Hospital Revenue Cycle

Apollo Data Technologies, the first technology company to provide customized, data mining solutions for hospitals, announces two strategic additions to support its continuous expansion to better service the needs of its clients and their growing demand for an automated revenue cycle and advanced data analytics.

Brad Aaron, former deputy general counsel for Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDRX), joins Apollo Data Technologies as its Chief Operating Officer, where he will handle legal and operational functions company-wide. During his tenure at Allscripts, Mr. Aaron worked on some of the largest deals in company history with clients like Catholic Health Initiatives, North Shore Long Island Jewish, and most recently closed the $1B+ acquisition of Eclipsys Corporation (Nasdaq: ECLP).

“I’m excited to join such a fast-growing, innovative company like Apollo that has the technology and healthcare expertise to transform the hospital revenue cycle from antiquated to automated,” said Brad Aaron, Apollo’s new Chief Operating Officer, who has almost 20 years of healthcare, operational and technology experience. “It’s been gratifying to watch Apollo’s clients continuously experience ‘aha moments’ after they gain access for the first time to their own hospital data in a useable way, and analytics that directly point to high-value, actionable revenue opportunities.”

Apollo also brought on Dan Ward, who joined as Director of Revenue Integrity to oversee Apollo’s growing chargemaster and strategic pricing solutions. Mr. Ward began his career more than 10 years ago working in healthcare policy in Washington, D.C. before serving a variety of roles in hospital operations and the revenue cycle, like CDM Coordinator, Charge Services Director and Revenue Cycle Director.

“After gaining first hand experience working in hospital billing offices, I was immediately drawn to Apollo because I believe that it’s the one technology that delivers on its promise of building measurable and sustainable efficiencies,” said Dan Ward.

A recent survey of hospital CFOs by Healthcare Financial Management Association found that cash collection is their primary goal in this economic environment, and the best way to accomplish this goal is through “innovative approaches to unearthing data and using it to improve collections and denial management.” [1] Apollo’s data-mining solutions use this approach to help hospitals contain costs, generate revenue and maximize staff productivity.

“Brad and Dan are key to continuing to help us arm CFOs with the real-time data analysis they need to compete in this pressure-filled environment,” said Jeff Kaplan, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Data Technologies. “Their combined expertise in healthcare offer a unique perspective to help us provide our clients with the highest-quality solutions that allow hospitals to reinvest in their own patient care.”

Delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), Apollo’s solutions alleviate hospitals with the burden and cost for hardware, software maintenance, and ongoing operations and support.

Apollo Data Technologies is the leader in providing customized, data mining solutions for hospitals. Apollo detects anomalies and trends in patient billing, and clinical data to identify lost revenue, improve cash flow and automate manual processes. Its predictive analytics applies the science of advanced statistics and data mining to flag errant accounts and claims with a greater degree of accuracy than traditional methods.
