Buckeye is one of the state’s 73 public companies. CABLE Women on Boards hosted the first annual 2010 Board Walk of Fame event in Nashville on February 16 to celebrate and recognize women on Tennessee’s corporate boards and the companies they represent.

The 2010 Board Walk of Fame was an inaugural event to celebrate the benefits of gender-balanced board composition. Awards were given in two categories: Tennessee women who serve on the Boards of the state’s public companies and Tennessee public companies with two or more women on their Boards.

Ms. Buckman Gibson has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a Law Degree and MBA from Emory University.

John Crowe, Buckeye’s Chairman and CEO, said, “It is an honor to receive this award for Buckeye and to be a part of this inaugural event. I want to thank CABLE and the many sponsors that made this event possible and for recognizing the contribution and importance of diversity on corporate boards. We are proud of our Board of Directors and have firsthand experience in the value of diversity of thought and the positive impact it has on delivering better results. We are very proud and fortunate to have Kathy on our Board of Directors. Her contributions have made a positive difference in our strategies and results. She always challenges us to accept change and think long-term.”
