Trying to recall the first time you heard the phrase hope springs eternal and who said it?
It comes from the Alexander Pope essay written sometime around the year 1733.
The Holy Bible is a place all people can turn to for truth, hope and inspiration!
In 2021, it is inevitable that we will experience times of trouble and despair.
But take heart and know that you can always turn to Bible Verses that will give you hope!
Bible Verses About Hope When Satan Comes Knocking
Satan often uses the disappointments in our lives to discourage and dishearten us.
When something upsetting happens, we can begin to feel as though nothing will ever go right for us.
It can lead you to a dark place where you’re tempted to give up or to sin.
Know that you can turn to Jesus Christ whenever that happens.
Role Models To Light The Way
Heroes of past found their hope in Almighty God whenever they struggled with feelings of depression.
One such hero was the God’s prophet, Elijah.
God was glorified, Elijah should have been elated and ironically feelings of despair began to overwhelm him due to his fear of being hunted down by Queen Jezebel.
Elijah was reminded of who his God was and he again found his hope in The One who provides comfort.
Hope always springs eternal when you turn to God!
Time and again Bible heroes of faith took comfort in God’s word, and eventually saw a resolution to their troubles.
Continual prayer and reading of scripture often transported them from a place of frustration to one of comfort and praise.
No matter what’s going on in your life, it’s critical to remember that God is in control.
He knows and sees what you’re going through.
Because He is all knowing and ever present and all powerful!
He’s not surprised by anything, anyone or any occurrence on the face of this earth.
Moreover, all things happen for God’s good purposes.
Bible Verses About Hope: Romans 8:28
Romans 8:28; “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
God has a purpose for everything in our lives because we are His children.
This means all things, including that job you didn’t get or that fender bender that happened to you this morning.
Sometimes we see God’s purpose for outcomes in this life.
Take heart and know while the answers we seek may not come now, they will be yours when you see Him face to face one day.
Moreover, rest assured that God has a plan for everything that’s happening to you.
Don’t allow negative events in your life to lead you down the road that leads to destruction.
Instead, you can trust in God’s ultimate goodness and know that He has great plans for your life!
Bible Verses That Will Give You Hope: John 16:33
John 16:33; “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Jesus reminds us that trouble and persecution will happen during our time in this world.
Often, we become anxious and discouraged simply because we’re surprised that something negative is happening to us.
We’re reminded by our Lord and Savior that it’s not a matter of if, but when, we experience trouble.
Yet, He also lets us know that the ultimate victory is in His hands.
If God Is for Us, Who Can Be Against Us?
Romans 8:31; “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
When your desires and wants are in line with God’s will for your life, the answer is NO ONE can be against you!
Because you have the God of All Creation clearing the way for you, leading you to an amazing life.
Cast aside your fears of bite-sized obstacles, like debt, an unfriendly boss, not being liked by others, etc.
Moreover do not allow these bite-sized roadblocks to become giants in your life.
It’s important to remember how your problems pale in comparison to the strength of The Almighty God.
When God is on your side, you are unstoppable!
Bible Verses That Will Give You Hope: Yours Is In HIM
You were made by God.
Moreover, would a parent not care for their child?
You are a child of The Most High God!
As such rely on your faith that He has got this.
1 Peter 5:7; “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
Worry, stress, lead to temptation, which leads to sin.
Take heart for your cure to anything is right here!
Matthew 6:25-27;
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”
When you come to know Jesus Christ, you will also know that your hope for everything is in Him.
Hope Springs Eternal: Joshua 1:9
Joshua 1:9; “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Strength, peace and hope in knowing that you have God with you every step of the way on your journey through this life!
Joshua came to know this firsthand.
Moses, his mentor had gone the way of his forefathers.
It was for Joshua to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land.
You are as important to God as Joshua was.
When you have The Spirit of God Almighty living inside you, going wherever you go, what concern here on earth could topple that fact?
Jesus Christ is your only life source.
John 14:6; “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
