Metronet Named Kentucky’s Fastest Internet Speeds

Metronet, the nation’s largest independently owned, 100 percent fiber optic provider, today announced its future-proof 100 percent fiber optic internet has been ranked the fastest internet service provider (ISP) in Kentucky. According to recently released data from Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence®, Metronet ranked as “Fastest Internet Service Provider in Kentucky” with a median download speed of 205.87 megabits per second (Mbps) for Q2 2022. With Metronet’s symmetrical upload and download speeds, Metronet customers experience upload speeds that are the exact same as the ultra-high-speed download speed they receive directly to their home or business.

“Ultra-high-speed internet connections have become a necessary part of everyday life. With streaming, gaming, online work and school having become so popular, it’s important for customers to trust that their ISP is providing them with best state-of-the-art technology,” said John Cinelli, Metronet CEO. “Metronet’s future-proof technology provides medium and small cities throughout Kentucky with service that will soon scale to provide access to multi-gigabit speeds. We are thrilled to provide the communities we serve with access to the fastest speeds in Kentucky.”

Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® also ranked Metronet as Fastest U.S. Non-National Top Fixed Broadband Provider in Iowa.

As a leading fiber optic internet provider, Metronet and its affiliates provide future-proof 100 percent fiber optic internet speeds to more than 250 communities across 16 states. With its expanded presence in Kentucky, Metronet will continue to support more communities across the state with access to a 100 percent fiber optic infrastructure that has the ability to provide multi-gigabit speeds of up to 5GB through XGS PON technology.
