Western Asset Management, one of the world’s leading active fixed-income managers, with US$449.2 billion in assets under management (AUM) as of March 31, 2022, is pleased to announce it has been named a 2021 Greenwich Quality Leader in Overall U.S. Institutional Investment Management Service by Coalition Greenwich. The distinction is reserved for investment management firms that “deliver superior levels of client service that help institutional investors achieve their investment goals and objectives.”
“We are humbled by this recognition, particularly amid today’s volatile market environment,” says James Hirschmann, President and CEO of Western Asset. “Now, as ever in our 50 years of experience, delivering exceptional client service remains one of our highest priorities.”
Western Asset continues to emphasize and cultivate its distinctive team-based, client-centric approach to investing and service. This is particularly relevant given the tremendous challenges seen globally this year. Since 1972, the Firm’s investment team has successfully navigated a variety of market environments by harnessing input from investment team members located around the world, and by listening carefully and attentively to its clients’ needs and goals.
“We attribute this distinction to our clients,” says Hirschmann, “and to our shared commitment to cultivating long-term partnerships.”
Marzo Bernardi, Director of Global Client Service and Marketing, says, “We put our clients first in everything we do. Our client service team comprises industry leaders and specialists who are sharply aware of the unique challenges confronting our clients and prospects in these very dynamic times, as macro developments continue to emerge globally. We offer fixed-income and alternative solutions to address each client’s distinct needs and goals, and do so by truly partnering with them.”
Methodology
Coalition Greenwich, a division of CRISIL, an S&P Global Company, is a leading global provider of strategic benchmarking, analytics and insights to the financial services industry. Between July and October 2021, Coalition Greenwich conducted interviews with 811 individuals from 661 of the largest tax-exempt funds in the United States. These U.S.-based institutional investors are corporate and union funds, public funds and endowment and foundation funds, with either pension or investment pool assets greater than $150 million. Study participants were asked to provide quantitative and qualitative evaluations of their asset management and investment consulting providers, including qualitative assessments of those firms soliciting their business and detailed information on important market trends.
