New children’s book "Tess McBest is Stressed!" by Cheryl McGrory is released, a delightful rhyming story about a young girl learning to ask for help in a stressful situation

“Tess McBest is Stressed!” by Cheryl McGrory has been released worldwide. This fresh and fun 23-page children’s book tells the story of young Tess, who discovers that her shoes are embarrassingly stinky just as she’s about to meet a friend for a bike ride. Tess doesn’t know what to do, and finds herself stressed and panicking. She soon learns that asking for her mom’s help sets things right, and gets to enjoy a fun day with her friend.

With vibrant illustrations and fun rhyming language, Cheryl McGrory presents a relatable scenario and a great lesson for kids about reaching out to an adult when they have a crisis -no matter how small. Through Tess, young readers will see that their parents may have solutions to problems that kids don’t know about, and that asking for help can provide relief from stress and worry.

The story is intentionally lighthearted, but conveys an important reminder for both children and adults about honesty, sharing struggles, and offering assistance to those in need. Tess’s mom immediately has a solution to her stinky shoe problem, and the kids enjoying this book might be surprised at the problems their parents can solve too!

Perfect for children ages 3 to 7, this wonderfully silly story was inspired by the author’s childhood with three active siblings and all of the stinky shoes that accumulated near their front door. Channeling that experience into an entertaining, educational children’s piece of children’s fiction, McGrory offers an engaging way for families to talk about asking for help – and a lesson about dealing with stinky shoes too.

Tess McBest is Stressed! (ISBN: 9781962987783) can be purchased through retailers worldwide, including Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The paperback retails for $12.99, and the ebook retails for $2.99. Review copies and interviews are available upon request.

About the author:

I was born in Omaha Nebraska and went to college at the University of Arizona before moving to San Diego. After working in marketing in the medical field for several years, I married and had three children. They are now grown adults and I am thrilled to currently be a grandmother to five young children.

After reading countless children’s books, and experiencing the joy that it has brought to all of us, I was inspired to write one myself. What better legacy to leave than a book that brings a smile to someone’s face.
