DRILLING WITH A DRILL BIT IS SUITABLE FOR MAKING RELATIVELY LARGE HOLES, HOLES WITH A DIAMETER OF MORE THAN 2MM. The disadvantage of using a drill bit to drill a hole is that the drill bit is prone to breakage, resulting in a high rejection rate of the product.
EDM drilling is one of the common methods for cemented carbide hole machining. THE HOLES IT PROCESSES ARE GENERALLY MORE THAN 0.2MM, THE SAFETY OF SPARK DRILLING IS HIGH, THE ACCURACY IS RELATIVELY HIGH, AND THE DEPTH OF THE STRAIGHT HOLE IS NOT LIMITED. However, EDM drilling takes a long time and the processing speed is very slow. It is not suitable for some products with tight delivery time.
There is also a method of laser perforation. CEMENTED CARBIDE HOLE PROCESSING WITH LASER DRILLING CAN MAKE HOLES ABOVE 0.01MM, THE ACCURACY IS VERY HIGH, AND THE PROCESSING SPEED IS RELATIVELY FAST, IT IS THE BEST PUNCHING SCHEME, BUT ITS PROCESSING DEPTH IS GENERALLY NOT MORE THAN 5-8MM.
